It is amazing how our created world displays its Creator. Just the last few weeks, I have marveled at:
The whiteness of freshly fallen snow – crisp and clean.
The sound of the wind blowing through our yard – at times sounding like a freight train.
The gentleness of deer, standing so stately and gracefully.
The perfection of newly hatched finches – tiny and fluffy – coming from eggs the size of a fingertip.
The sunrise breaking through the trees.
Frozen rivers appearing to be suspended in motion.
“Some people, in order to discover God, read books. But there is a great book: the very appearance of created things. Look above you! Look below you! Read it. God, whom you want to discover, never wrote that book with ink. Instead He set before your eyes the things that He has made. Can you ask for a louder voice than that?” (St. Augustine)
Paul, in writing the book of Romans put it this way, “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” (Romans 1:20, NLT)
“Look above you! Look below you!”
What is He saying to you today?

Traci
So very true, Traci. I learn so much from looking out my back window. Thank you for sharing here with me.
The newly hatched finches line made me smile! I do really love nature, and walking in his creation. I guess this is why. We can find him so easily, and know his better in what he has made. And…he has never made junk!
Happy Wednesday π
Ceil
Ceil, love that you shared, “He has never made junk!” Thank you for this thought!

Winter has words all its own π
Great post about seeing God through our eyes and even our ears. I am sorry I can’t really appreciate the cold at this moment but I love to look outside at the sun shining on the snow. Brr though.
Blessings,

Oh I love this… especially after what I shared this morning with the sunrise/sunset photos. And I loved your comment to my post: “And the same God, our God, caused that same sun to both rise & set. How amazing!” He is AMAZING. I’m just so in awe of Him lately. Always in awe, but more so recently.
Love you,
Beth
Beth, may our awe of Him grow in increasing measure each day. I loved seeing your photos this morning!
His creation that He spoke into existence is truly beyond words. I loved reading what you saw this week. From grand skies to tiny birds.
