{{It is Friday. Today I link with Lisa Jo Baker for Five Minute Friday. Here is how it worksÒ€¦. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. Everyone writes on the same word. Equals a great time.}}

Today she picked the word ….. laundry.

There was a time when laundry was major at my house. Piles of laundry. It always seemed like I would never see the hamper empty. Having a son who played sports every season throughout high school can grow laundry quicker than yeast can grow bread. For four years, there was either a practice or a game every day. And so the laundry had to get done frequently.

Not so much these days with just the two of us now. The piles are smaller. Much smaller.

I saw the prompt – laundry – and remembered that there was one pile waiting for me on the bathroom floor. As I scooped the pile up, headed to the washing machine, it was then that I thought….

“I am so glad He does laundry as well.”

I can air my “dirty laundry” with Him and know that He holds it safe. It doesn’t get repeated to cause me shame and/or embarrassment. Once told to Him, He tends to it. Scripture tells me…

He gave up his life for her (speaking of the Church) to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. (Ephesians 5: 25-27, NLT).

{{{Christ does laundry.}}}

I have been the recipient of Him washing me whiter than snow, removing all stain of my sins. I though of how I have applied spot remover to favorite shirts. How often it seemed like a particular stain would be impossible to get out. Oh the joy and relief that was felt, when pulling it out of the washing machine, the stain was gone and the shirt was saved.

And I have known that very same joy, each and every time I have come to Him to repent and ask for cleansing. The stain is lifted.

Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14, NIV)).

I am blessed.

My robe has been washed.

He holds my laundry.
