There will never be a single moment in our lives in which God is not faithful in loving us. Psalm 138 brought such encouragement recently.
- His promises are backed by His Word. “For You have magnified Your word according to all Your name.” (verse 2, NASB))
- God answers us when we call on Him. If He answered His people in the past, He will answer us today and in the future. “On the day I called, You answered me.” (verse 3, NASB)
- He strengthens our souls, making us bold when we need to be. “You made me bold with strength in my soul.“ (verse 3, NASB)
- He revives us when we are in the midst of hard times. “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me.” (verse 7, NASB)
- He accomplishes what concerns us. “The Lord will accomplish what concerns me.” (verse 8, NASB)
- He will not forsake us because we are the work of His hands. “Your lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.” (verse 8, NASB)
Each of these verses speaks to how intimately God is involved in our lives. David looked back at a time when God helped him in the past as a reason to give God thanks presently.
May we give thanks to the Lord
with all our heart
for His Presence and help every day.

Joanne, thank you for these reminders today. God is not a God who is far off or detached, His unfailing and intimate love never changes, and He abides faithful even when we do not.
I love this encouragement from God’s Word. Our Sunday School class is going through selected psalms now, and they provide such an example of strengthening our faith with reminders of how He has shown His care in the past, His character, and His promises.
As I listen to the news this morning and the uncertainty that faces Florida in the coming days, your words echo in my heart! Such a beautiful reminder that through it all, He abides and strengthens us! Praying for those that are impacted!
Mankind cannot create a problem God cannot solve, redeem – you write: “There will never be a single moment in our lives in which God is not faithful in loving us.” – Amen, my friend! Standing in faith on that!
