What a week of wild weather everywhere – from nor’easters to tornados, to flooding rains – no matter where you live, something was impacting the area. Our God is in control of it all – the wind and the rains.
A recent read of Psalm 100, in which the heading in my Bible reminded me that we are to be thankful and glad.
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing.” (Psalm 100:1-2, NASB)
The study made this point which resonated with me:
“What sets believers apart from the world is our attitude.”
(from Praise : A Walk Through the Psalms, page 59)
Those words made me ask myself – How is my attitude?
Attitude – we all have one. And it is a matter of choice as well.
And then the study brought the reminder that: “The world is watching.” {{ouch}}
Who is watching? What would they take note of?
These were the questions I sat and pondered for a bit. One saying I have always disliked is: “Fake it to make it.” It rubs me the wrong way because I don’t want to be fake. I want to be and live genuinely, authentically.
I want my thanksgiving, my gratitude, my praise, my attitude to be genuine before God.
Is there anything keeping you from a thankful heart? What do you need to do to have a heart filled with gratitude?
Today I am praising God for the promise in verse 3 of that same chapter:
“Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” (Psalm 100:3, NASB)
I am one of His sheep and He is my Shepherd. And when I don’t know what to do or where to go, my Shepherd leads the way. He also brings correction to my attitude; and for this I can come before Him with joyful singing.
I’ve had this song open on my laptop for over a week. Sure it is an old one, and we all know it, but my hope is for each of you to pause and let the song fall on you anew.
Now is the time to worship,
no matter what is going on in our lives,
He bids us “Come, now is the time to worship.”

Today I may be joining … Tell His Story
this helps, Joanne. now. not later or when things get easier or when the smoke clears. He deserves all our praise right in the middle of uncertainty, uneasiness, and the unknown.
You know I love this, Joanne! I’m so thankful you reminded me of this song … now is the time to adjust our attitudes and to worship Jesus instead of our worries and fears.
Thanks for the reminder in your post and in the song, Joanne. Blessings.
Thank you for the reminder.
Gratitude and praise are of upmost importance to our attitude.
