“For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.” (Hebrews 4:10, NASB)
” … Whereas God worked six days to enjoy His sabbath rest, Adam began life with the sabbath. God works before He rests. Man, to be in harmony with God, must first enter into God’s rest; then alone can he work. This principle underlies all Christian service … And here is the Gospel: that for us sinners God has taken one further necessary step, and has completed also the entire work of salvation. We need do nothing whatsoever to merit it. At once, by an act of simple faith, we can enter into the sabbath rest of His finished work.”
