“And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food and broke the loaves and He kept giving them to the disciples to set before them; and He divided up the two fish among them all.” (Mark 6:41, NASB)
“Surely the one fundamental need in our life and service for God is the blessing of God upon it. No other need exists. What do we mean by blessing? Blessing is the working of God where there is nothing to account for His working … Blessing is fruit out of all relation to what we are, results that are not just the working of cause and effect. Blessing comes when God works wholly beyond our reckoning, for His Name’s sake.”

Today I may be joining … Scripture & a Snapshot .
I’ve already received my first blessing of the new year Ms. Joanne, your encouragement and continued friendship. Happy New Year and God’s blessings sweet friend.
Thank you so much, J.D. I feel the same way about the blogging friendships which have developed. I appreciate you! Happy New Year to both you and Ms. Diane.
That’s a wonderful definition and explanation of blessing! Amen, may we all be blessed in the year to come!
Happy New Year, Kym!
We tend to use the word blessing a lot, but it is good to stop and think about what it means, where it comes from, and how full it really is. I appreciated this renewed contemplation of God’s blessing.
I am finding reading slowly and returning to some older pastors/authors has truly broadened my understanding.
Amen. God’s blessings are bountiful. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Melissa! I am looking forward to all God has for us in 2023.
