Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Know.

Every day the news tells us of changes occurring in our world, our country, and communities.

Thanks to technology, we are able to learn about these events faster than ever before. Almost as quickly as they happen, they are being reported, often before all the facts are even fully known.

With the passing of time, I am discovering that the older I get, the less I know.

The dictionary defines “know” as: “to perceive or understand as fact or truth; to apprehend clearly and with certainty” (dictionary.com).

I do not know how to solve wars, formula shortages, pandemics, health challenges, and economic difficulties. I do not know how to resolve racism, hatred, and strained relationships. I do not know the answer for climate changes, rising fuel prices, and pandemics.

But the older I get, there is one thing I know more certainty:

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” (2 Timothy 1:12, NKJV)

And today is a good time to remember what I know.
