It snowed again.
I woke up one morning last week to the most beautiful sight out my windows. Sheer white. Everywhere.
The trees were blanketed in glorious white, and as the sun came up, it glistened like diamonds. It really was breathtaking.
So I stepped outside on our deck in my slippers and pj’s to take a few minutes. The hush and stillness adding to the glory already seen.
Coming back into the house, I was taken with the peace I felt.
Then the weather turned differently – it was more like spring. There are glimmers of a green hue on the trees and bushes. The sight of them whispers of hope – hope of what it yet to come. Hope of growth once again.
God uses the changes in seasons to speak His message over us. A message of peace and hope and salvation.
“I would have despaired unless I had believed that
I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord ;
Be strong and let your heart take courage;
Yes, wait for the Lord.”
(Psalm 27:13-14, NASB)
So much is going on all around us in our neighborhoods, our country, and the world. In her post, “Praise the Lord, Come What May”, Lois Flowers brings much encouragement. “From dawn to dusk. Come what may. Praise the Lord.” Read her full post HERE.

Today I am joining …
God shows up in his creation in STARTLING ways! I love the seasonal transitions.
He really does, proving again and again that He alone is God.
I’m so grateful for the change in seasons. I realize not everyone lives in a place with distinct seasons. Thanks to our spring weather here, I was able to go for a long, very comfortable walk & talk yesterday outside with one of my friends. It was nourishing to both of us.
I am sure the walk, the talk, and the company were equally refreshing to you both! Hopefully it was the start of many more days of company!
I love those verses you quoted from Psalms. I love that God has built hope and the promise of new life right into creation and the seasons.
Barbara, those verses always speak to me. They speak to me of the depth of love the Father has for us that He would go to lengths to keep us from despair.
Joanne, I always find such peace when I linger in creation with God. Those photos of the snow are truly breathtaking! God speaks in so many ways through His creation, the seasons and every day moments!
I have always loved and enjoyed our backyard. Every season, every sunrise has been a blessing that has continually spoken to my soul.
I love how God gives us glorious sights and sounds to absorb and enjoy. Yesterday, two Cedar Waxwing birds ate most of the berries off of our holly bushes. The two birds were busy. I love watching the birds. 🙂
Birds are amazing to watch. I have been so happy to see robins and bluejays once again!
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos! Oh my! Just gorgeous!
Hope can be seen so vividly in nature. Daffodils pushing their way through the soil. Grass turning green. Hope lives!
I love how God speaks His message of hope again and again!
You are the second person talking about spiritual truths through the seasons today! Maybe I should start paying attention instead of complaining that it’s already too hot here. Ugh. And the scripture at the end is just what my husband and I needed today to push back some discouragement. I just read it to him. Thank you.
Lauren, I am grateful the Scripture spoke to both you and Chuck.. I must admit, I may not be as excited about the change of seasons come the heat and humidity of summer 🙂
Beautiful post Joanne… It’s pouring rain here on the east coast of Australia.
Speaks of a cleansing & refreshment.
Bless you,
Jennifer
There is something about a spring rain that truly does speak a message all its own. It even has a different fragrance, which always is a delight to breathe in.
Such stunning photos, Joanne. We didn’t get much snow this winter, so I’ll have to enjoy yours! Then again, since Winter and Spring play tug-of-war for quite a while here, we could still get snow–it’s happened in April before. You won’t hear me complaining though. I love the coziness of winter!
I smiled as you mentioned April snow. Yesterday that was all the talk on the radio – an April Fools storm that brought about 30 inches one year. I so agree with you – I love the coziness that winter brings. Grateful you enjoyed my photos. Seeing as I am not a photographer, the credit of the beauty goes to our Creator! 🙂
I love your photos, Joanne. And thanks for sharing my post … I had to read it to myself again this week when I had to the opportunity (yet again) to choose praise over worry. The verses from Psalm 27 speak to my heart as well. â¤ï¸
I’m glad you liked the photos as a photographer I am not. But the beauty lately has been too wonderful to miss. May we keep holding onto His promise for we will see His goodness in the land of the living! [hug]
