“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39, NASB)

Paul was so confident in God’s love for him that he wanted all of us to live in this same confidence. He tells us in these verses that God will never stop loving us, His love cannot be taken away from us by anything, or anyone.

In a nutshell – God loves you just as much today as He ever has. Nothing can ever diminish, not add to, His love for you.

His love also wins out over everything and everyone. You are never unloved by God.

I hope you let that settle on your heart a bit today. God’s love is not fickle, will not change.

He will love YOU forever!

Have you had a few sleepless nights lately?

“When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. For You have been my help. And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy. My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.” (verses 6-8, NASB)

The psalmist also knew what it was to lay awake, to have thoughts consume the time and steal sleep.

But it is in the night, in the shadow of His wings, that we can sing. We can sing as we cling to Him, knowing He will be faithful to make the sun rise again and shine again.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15, NASB)

In this verse, Paul reminds us we were called to be one body. That means – we are called to unity.

But in order for this peace to be in our relationships, it must first be in our own hearts.

If the peace of Christ is ruling in our own hearts, then all that we say and do will be a reflection of that peace. We won’t be so stressed out and snapping at people around us.

Notice, he ends this verse with a brief … and while you’re at it, be thankful.

We won’t be so prone to worry if we are offering words of thanks to the Lord. We can’t be focused on our worries, if we are focused on the many reasons we are thankful for all God has done, and is doing, in our lives.

Basically I think Paul is saying if we expressed our thanks to God each day, we may be less prone to worry.

And we’d have a lot more peace in our hearts and minds.
