We explored a few more words this week …
SPONTANEOUS.
“For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind and declares to man what are His thoughts, He who makes dawn into darkness and treads on the high places of the earth, The Lord God of hosts is His name.” (Amos 4:13, NASB)
My dictionary simply defines spontaneous as … without effort or premeditation.
God who without effort or premeditation, He spontaneously forms mountains, creates winds, turns dawn to darkness, treads where He wants on the earth. And, don’t miss it …
“And declares to man what are HIS thoughts.”
Can we even imagine this? He tells us His thoughts.
With that being said: How can you raise your awareness to the Holy Spirit’s nudges?
Those nudges, the promptings of the Lord, can at times push us out of our comfort zones. But if we heed them, we may be spared from harm, or blessed beyond measure. We may even be a blessing to someone else.
Pay attention. See what thoughts He shares with you today.

FULL.
“But being full of the Holy Spirit, he [Stephen] gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.” (Acts 7:55, NASB)
Dictionary.com renders this definition: “completely filled; containing all that can be held; filled to utmost capacity.”
Whatever has filled us up will come out when we are under pressure. I have heard it explained as:
- “What’s down in the well, comes up in the bucket.”
- “What’s in the teabag, comes out in the hot water.”
However we explain it, stress has a way of revealing our hearts.
How full are you feeling? Are you empty, partially full, or overflowing? What, or Who, is filling you today?
The wonder of it all is that as we walk with the Lord, He fills us with exactly what is needed right in the moment, day by day.

RETURN.
“Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, For you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, That we may present the fruit of our lips.” (Hosea 14:1-2, NASB)
Return has been defined as “to go or come back, as to a former place, position, or state” (dictionary.com).
Though we may turn away from God, God will never abandon us. He knows we fall because of our own sinful natures. Yet He say to us, bring your sincere words of confession and repentance. All He wants from us is for us to come and make things right before Him.
What did you do the last time you stumbled in your relationship with God? Did you experience regret? Did you ignore Him? Make excuses? Or return quickly?
Reading these Scriptures in Hosea brought to mind 2 Timothy 2:13 …
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.”
And then this song came to back to my remembrance and is now playing softly as I type. May it bless you as well.

He shares His thoughts,
fills us up,
and remains faithful to us.

“The wonder of it all is that as we walk with the Lord, He fills us with exactly what is needed right in the moment, day by day.” Yes! He is my sunshine and warmth even on the coldest of winter days.
He is so faithful to keep our hearts from growing cold.
“He shares His thoughts,
fills us up, and remains faithful to us”. Amen. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these words – I enjoyed reading them; food for thought. And I love that song by Selah, I’m always listening to it 🙂
Thank you for stopping to share, Wemi!
Love this song. Sometimes I feel at times the Holy Spirit gets overlooked. He is in us when we became new creations when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Some new and even long time followers of Christ have a better understanding of God+Jesus than they do + the Holy Spirit. I constantly pray for more understanding of the Holy Spirit, to listen for his whispers, and to feel his nudges and recognize guidance in my life. Thank you so much for this Joanne, your words led me to many ponderings. Blessings.
Paula, may we both be faithful to lean in and listen, feel, and recognize His nudges. And then respond. I am so glad you shared!
Those are some pretty good words Ms. Joanne. As we say here in TX, “That’ll preach right there!” Thank you for all your inspiration ma’am. God’s blessings.
Oh Joanne, that song is one of my all-time favorites! And “full” was my Word for 2020, of all years. God knew, though … all the sadness that 2019 brought to my family didn’t disappear in 2020, but He filled our hearts with peace and togetherness in the midst of all the turmoil and uncertainty. Hugs, friend!
