Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Design.
Design: “to plan and fashion the form and structure of an object” (dictionary.com).Â
It is amazing to think everything we see and smell and touch has been created by God Himself …
Every blade of grass, the numerous shades of green.
The vastness of the sea with its movements and tides.
The clouds which glide across the sky in shapes and beauty.
The darkness of the sky which lights up with the moon and the stars scattered across the expanse.
The snow that falls with not one flake the same as another.
Mountains spread across a horizon, rising and falling in height.
Fields and prairies broad and flat inhabited by wildlife that amaze.
And none of it is by happenstance. It all reminds me of the One who created it all by His spoken word. He alone held the blueprints to everything we know and it all was by His design. He alone planned and fashioned and structured it all.
The very word “design” brought the words to mind from an old song and video:
“You see, the Bible says the invisible things of God are seen through His creation,
To believe this is not hard. If there’s a design, there’s a designer,
If there’s a plan, there’s a planner and if there’s a miracle, there is a God.”(from There Is A God by Carmen)

Today I am joining …
Amen Joanne. So very well spoken. I like the quote from Carman. I enjoyed the video, thank you for sharing.
Visiting you today from FMF#5
The message from the video has remained with me all these many years. I am so glad it came back to mind this morning.
It is so amazing when we take time to ponder God’s design isn’t it. I could see the snowflakes and tide as you were describing them x
Recently in watching the snow fall in the light out our back window, I was amazed at how clearly you could see the designs on the flakes.
Thank you for sharing about design, Joanne. “The very word “design†brought the words to mind from an old song and video.” It’s my first time to see the video, thanks for passing it along.
It is such an old video but it is what came to mind. And now I am so glad I shared it.
You know, I have traveled a lot in my sixty years of life. I have seen the prairies, the deserts, the Rockie mountains, the arms, Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon… you painted a beautiful picture in my mind and bought back some happy memories for me. I really needed that. Thank you. I want to follow you. Could you please read my blog, 9 on FMF, the ugly one? I meant to put my photo in but I forgot. God bless you dear.
I am so glad the mention of creation brought back some happy memories. You have seen some beautiful sights! Blessings to you today!
You wrote early this morning! xo
I am up so early every morning. But over the years, it has become my favorite time of day. My second favorite time of day is my nap time 🙂
I love Carmen :). Every time I photograph something, I know without a doubt we have a Designer. Especially when the photographs allow me to see intricate details I would miss with my eyes.
It is so funny how songs and videos stay in the recesses of our mind waiting to be recalled. And yes, your photography is beautiful. I am glad you share it with us all so we don’t miss out. We can surely see our Creator all around us, if we but open our eyes to see.
Great reflection, Joanne!
Love it. There’s an origin to everything! Thanks for your beautiful insight! FMF#37
God made the mighty mountains,
He made the deep blue sea
and Hawaii’s fire-fountains,
and His magnum opus, me.
It’s not that I’m conceited,
but if perfect’s what you seek,
my design won’t be repeated,
and I’ll remain unique.
And God doth roll His mighty eyes,
(I can alost hear ’em click),
and I say, “Don’t be surprised
if that way they will stick!”
God replies, “Deflate your mind;
each mosquito too’s one-of-a-kind.”
Joanne,
I don’t know how anyone could look around at the intricacy and detail in God’s design of creation and not see His hand? From the different hues of grass to the delicate design of each flower, He designed it all for our good pleasure. What an awesome God we have!
Blessings,
Bev xx
Beautiful, Joanne. Agree that l we see and enjoy in the beauty around us and our very life and breath, is not by happenstance.
It was wonderful to peek inside your heart today!
