“Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” (John 6:35, NLT)
“There are times when the one thing you want is the one thing you never get …
You pray and wait.
No answer.
You pray and wait.
What if the request is delayed or even denied? When God says no to you, how will you respond? If God says, “I’ve given you my grace, and that is enough,” will you be content?
Content. That’s the word. A state of the heart in which you would be at peace if God gave you nothing more than he already has.”

Today I am joining … Scripture & a Snapshot and Sunday Scripture Blessings .
This level of faith and gratitude is always a challenge to me. At my church this month, we are celebrating the goodness of God as a reason for Thanksgiving, and it’s opening my eyes to so much.
I bet it is as God is good all the time and all the time, God is good!
What a gift to see all of God’s blessings in the now instead of ever straining for more.
Amen, Elizabeth!
I’m waiting out another death
of another canine friend,
keeping watch on fading breath
and soon must come the end.
This is three in fourteen days;
they were old, this was their time,
but it does sometimes feel, someways,
like I’m punished for some crime.
I’m grateful, Lord, that they were here,
and that our lives were shared,
and I guess that my tears
and proof that I have cared.
But in these days when much is taken,
my heart is full, and it is breaking.
Oh Andrew, I am so sorry for these losses as I know the dogs have been such wonderful companionship.
I am still learning (and have a ways to go!) about being content in all circumstances, like the Apostle Paul. I love this definition from Lucado – and it reminds me that I already have so very much to be thankful for. Therefore I should be more than content! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I am so grateful for the patience of the Lord as He knows we are ever learning. May you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Such a great scripture reminder…He is enough, we have enough…but oh how the human heart always wants more, but glad for his reminders of how full the plate is really.
