Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is … Settle.
“Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.”
(Psalm 119:89, NKJV)
Every generation has had God’s Word for His Word is settled. It will stand firm.
It will be …
forever relevant to every generation of believers,
forever alive and giving life,
forever unchanging.
God will keep every promise as He does what He says. Every prophecy will come to pass. God is faithful to keep His covenant to all generations, to the ends of the earth.
This should give us today such assurance and confidence that God’s Word will work in our lives, causing us to live for His purposes.
His Word will guide us, sustain us, keep us, feed us, pursue us, encourage us, and strengthen us. His Word will give us wisdom and understanding. The stability of God’s Word keeps us stable even under the most trying of days.
His Word is settled, established and firm, and
as we absorb every word,
our lives will be settled in Him.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith On Fire and Faith ‘N Friends and Friendship Friday .
What a great peace to remember today (and everyday!) I loved this: “our lives will be settled in Him”
With this rapidly changing world, which is in so much turmoil, we can so forget that His Word is forever settled and will not change. It brings me such peace as I remind myself.
To be settled to me is to know that God himself settled the question of does anyone love or care for me. He settled it in His dying for me
I so appreciated your comment as I just finished reading (literally) a blog post which shared this very same thought. Here is the link should you want to also read it >>> https://faithspillingover.com/2019/11/07/help-your-heart-feel-grateful/
Blessings!
It’s so encouraging to remember that God is always faithful and his Word is always true. In the midst of all that is changing it is reassuring to know that.
I so agree with you, Leslie. In the midst of all that is changing, it is most reassuring that He never will.
Once and for all. Yes and amen. SETTLED. 4ever
We’re told the Bible must be made
relevant for modern folly,
so again He’s pierced with iron blade
while we proclaim dark sin as holy.
We’re told that love is never wrong
and that God’s word is hateful voice
to those who feel they don’t belong
by their actions, and their choice.
We’re told that we have not the right
to live God’s plan as we are bidden,
and should never shine the Gospel light
for it triggers some, and must be hidden.
We’re told, by all the secular shushing
that we really should believe in nothing.
Amen. Just amen. 🙂
Amen!
God is faithful to all generations! What a blessing!! Something to settle our own faith upon:)
