When I began to blog, it was solely for the purpose of leaving a place where my children and grandchildren could one day read about my thoughts. At the time, I had no idea of the meaningful connections which would lie ahead.
The Five Minute Friday linkup is one of my favorite places to visit each week. It is amazing how a one word writing prompt speaks deeply into my heart and thoughts.
Kate Motaung is celebrating her five year anniversary as the hostess of this writing community!
She has compiled 52 one-word writing prompts into the The Five-Minute Writing Prompt Journal. Now writing need not be done online or solely on Fridays.
Each page is headed with the writing prompt and then there are wide spaced lined pages for you to jot down your thoughts, hopefully in five minutes. Throughout the journal, Kate has also included some inspirational writing quotes.
My hope, as I’ve shared in the journal’s subtitle, is that this journal would help you to cultivate confidence, consistency, and creativity in your writing life. ~ Kate Motaung
Five minutes is all it takes. Five minutes to write down your thoughts as they come – uninterrupted, flowing freely, and without concern for corrections.
“Write to discover. Write to release. Write to reflect. Write to restore.”
~ Kate Motaung
Give it a try as you may just discover for yourself the great joy which comes from writing!
You can find wonderful resources and encouragement at the Five Minute Friday website and on Twitter.
Today I am joining … Destination Inspiration and Tune In Thursday and Booknificent Thursdays .
I always enjoy reading the results of your 5 minute Friday writings. The prompts are so interesting and cover such a variety of topics. I will have to check out this journal and website!
I have heard of the 5 minute Friday, haven’t had the courage to join…. I have read some great post that came from there. Maybe the journal is a safer place to start, Or maybe I just need to jump in….?Decisions, Decisions! Thanks for the great information 8)
