“Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle – my lovingkindness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and the One in whom I take refuge. Who subdues my people under me.” (Psalm 144:1-2, NKJV)
“David learned at an early age that he could count on God … He had faith that God would go before him and give him victory in the battles he faced.
God has been with you and prepared you for what lies before you. You don’t have to go into battle alone. When you know God as the One you can always count on, you can stand in the face of your giants in your life and come out of your battle a giant-slayer!
Prayer: God, You are so faithful. Thank You for being with me in the battles I’ve faced. I know I can count on You to go with me now and see me through to become the champion You have destined me to be.

Today I am joining … Spiritual Sundays and Scripture & a Snapshot and Selah .
I’m always amazed at the range of emotion David is capable of in the psalms, and so very thankful that God has preserved this for us. The truth is there will be days when we wonder where God is . . . and then days when we rejoice because we know that He has put within us all we need to follow Him in triumph!
Absolutely beautiful and inspiring .
Oh, how we would all love to have a battle-free life, but that just isn’t reality, is it? I truly believe the Lord prepares us for those battles and stands ready, willing and able to help us through them.
I know I surely would love a battle-free life. But then, I’d miss out on knowing the greatness of our God in and through those times. He prepares us for every battle and is right there with us, giving us His strength. We never stand alone.
Thank you for these encouraging words this morning!
What a great reminder of how God is continuously at work in our lives and preparing us for every battle we face! We sang “Every Giant Will Fall” as a special this morning in church, and it had a similar reminder for us – the love of God sees us through every battle and is what enables us to defeat any giant that comes against us.
I love that song! We so need reminding that we never face giants alone.
