“When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.” (John 11:32, NLT)
“When Jesus arrived, Mary thought He was too late. Her beloved brother Lazarus was dead.
Yet, the fact is that Jesus is always right on time.
Lazarus had been dead four days. And yet Jesus asked that the stone blocking the entrance to the tomb be moved. An unusual request. But that’s because something unusual was about to happen.
The Savior had shown up and given life back to a dead man.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Looking for a miracle in your life? Hold on. Jesus is never late.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for this reminder that Your power and timing are always perfect. Amen.

It is hard when God doesn’t seem to do things according to our timing and we can’t understand why. The story of Lazarus is a great reminder that he always knows what he’s doing and that we can trust him!
I so agree, Lesley. We may not know or understand why His timing is different from ours but we can trust His timing to be perfect and for our good.
God’s timing is something I often have fought against! Learning to trust His timing is a work in progress in my life.
In our humanness, I think we all fight against His timing. Grateful for His grace as He works to grow us. Blessings!
The way we truly learn that God is always on time is through the waiting experiences, isn’t it? I’ve had many of them in my life, and the Lord has proved to me over and over again that His timing is perfect. How can I ever doubt?
Julie, it is amazing how the wait teaches us to trust His timing.
How I used to fret over God’s timing – until a missionary shared this wisdom: There is no safer place to be than waiting on the will of God. Your post is perfect for today’s fast paced lifestyle! Glad to have found you on Spiritual Sunday!
Love the wisdom the missionary shared. May we learn to patiently wait on His timing.
Good reminder! I do sometimes find myself getting anxious and wondering why God isn’t showing up to do what I want. Maybe he’s got something better planned, and I can trust him to be right on time with whatever it is.
May we patiently and trust Him in the wait, knowing His timing will bring something better than we would expect. Blessings!
