“You light a lamp for me. The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.”
(Psalm 18:28, NLT)
Abiding in Christ keeps your spiritual lights on – no matter how much the enemy wants to distract you and make you forget that God is on your side. No matter what the “road” conditions, you maintain a constant connection with Christ, your heart light remains bright.
God’s presence is a constant, guiding light that brightens your path and assures your footing along the road He has set you on. No matter how dark it seems, whether fog or storms roll in, you can see where to go and the direction to take as He leads you.
Prayer: Lord, You are always with me. As I abide in You, You illuminate the darkness and light the path You have set before me. I will follow You today, knowing that in the light of Your presence, I’ll find my way perfectly.

Beautiful thoughts! “Abiding in Christ keeps your spiritual lights on”. I am holding onto this truth today and in the future. Blessings!
Oh Joanne. I’ve been pulled a lot of different ways lately with writing commitments. It fractures my focus. This prayer is just what I needed this morning.
On every dark winter morning I make a cup of coffee and light some candles before sitting down to have my devotions. That wee bit of candlelight brings warmth and cheer in the midst of the darkness. I want to be like that.
Beautiful imagery, Elizabeth. I want to be like that as well!
Wonderful post, and I love the prayer. Thank you!
Andrew, you are a light to many. Praying for you now – may our God shed His light and peace in the midst of these dark days you and Barb are facing.
