“There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.” (2 Corinthians 4:18, MSG)
It isn’t just clothing styles that change during our times. Hairstyles change. Products change. Technologies change. Music tastes change. Television themes change. Certainly, change is inevitable. To survive, we must all learn to cope with the many changes we face. But God wants us to do more than just cope. He wants us to experience His abundant life. He wants us to thrive. To do that, we must focus not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.
Focus on the big picture. Focus on eternity. It helps keep the change in perspective. I remind myself to experience abundant life and not to worry about the changes that I can’t control anyway.
Prayer: Eternal Father, the same yesterday, today, and forever, thank You that Your plan and purposes never waver. In a world of constant change and flux, help me keep my eyes firmly fixed on You, to see Your vision and with unshakeable resolve, follow Your leadership. Amen.

Yes, Joanne, the things which are not seen are eternal. We must keep eternity in view. Great message this morning. Thanks for sharing.
This is a life-saving prayer for every phase of life, for sure, but I think this middle aged, grandmothering, growing-up kids life has been fraught with more change than any other season. And that leaf image is a perfect reminder to us New Englanders that there’s change in the wind.
Yes, and hallelujah Joanne! “Focus on the big picture. Focus on eternity. It helps keep the change in perspective. I remind myself to experience abundant life and not to worry about the changes that I can’t control anyway.”…our thoughts we along the same lines this morning. We HAVE to focus on the eternal or we will get swallowed by the flux.
Yes and amen! Keep my eyes focused on You, Jesus!
Saying a big Amen to your prayer. Have been praying for discernment and help for that very thing. Keeping my eyes on him and to act accordingly. So true the ever changing in life, and thank you for the reminder to keep eyes on the unseen and the promise of eternity. Love seeing your visits to Sunday Scripture Blessings so I can come and am blessed by your words. Have a great week.
