Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is … Blessing.
I live each day in the blessing of the Lord. He surely has given much to me – salvation, joy, peace, comfort, laughter, love, healing – and more. There are days I only have to look at any one of my family members and the tears will roll, as each one in my family is a blessing to me.
Then there are the days which can make me wonder, “Wasn’t the Lord bringing blessing in this particular area or circumstance?”
A situation can change causing any one of us to question the blessing. May it never cause us to question the blessing of the Lord, for the actions of people are never an indication of the character of God.
He is forever faithful. Forever good. And all He does is good even when it may not seem like it in the moment.
His Presence with us is a blessing we get to live in each day. Even when life hurts, He is at work to bless us and turns it for our good.
“I will bless my people and their homes around my holy hill. And in the proper season I will send the showers they need. There will be showers of blessing.” (Ezekiel 34:26, NLT)
Today I am joining … Faith On Fire and Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Faith ‘N Friends .
so true. God brings us blessings all the time, sometimes our perspective doesn’t let us see it though.
So very true, Annette. But in time, hopefully, we come to recognize that our God knew best.
God’s blessings are for eternal edification not necessarily present pleasure. When we’re going through bad times it doesn’t mean God hasn’t / isn’t blessing us. We can rest assured in His promised blessings of salvation despite our tribulation. You are so right, God is always good, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Blessings to you!!
Yes Liz, God is good, even when 🙂
Joanne, you are one of my new blessings!
Thank you, Susan, as are you to me!
Joanne, you are a blessing to me. Such a joy to read your words here and in SOAP and know we walk together in the presence of our Lord.
Debbie, it truly is a blessing to walk together in the presence of our Lord and in His Word. I am grateful for you!
Such a good word! Especially the part about “the actions of people are never an indication of the character of God.” You are so right, but sometimes we let the circumstances cloud our vision of Him.
We surely do, Jerralea. That is why I always try to remind myself of the character of God. It keeps my vision much clearer.
What a great verse from the book of Ezekiel! God is indeed so faithful. I’m in the 11 spot this week!
Showers of God’s Blessings! Beautiful!
