It’s Friday which means I am joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Many of us writing on that same word.

Today’s prompt is … Journey.

A journey means going from one place to another and life constantly has us on one. Some days the ride is clear as we go to work, to school, the supermarket, the dentist. But there are always the days in which the journey is unknown. Hidden to us but fully seen by The One.

After a week of reading Hebrews 11, I am reminded that faith truly is a verb which demands action. Faith will call us out to journey to places we may not have gone on our own.

God has been moving me out of my comfort zone more and more. He’s like that you know But the thing is … it is the only way we truly come to discover that we can do nothing apart from Him. It is all in His strength and as He moves in His power.

Our journeys are the avenue by which one generation truly impacts the next generation.

Abraham impacted Isaac. Isaac impacted Jacob and Esau. Jacob impacted his twelve sons, especially Joseph. And each of us will impact those in our lives as well throughout our journey.

The word “journey” causes me to pray that my life, especially my faith in Christ, would have a lasting impact on my own family. Especially long after I am gone. It is then my life would have true meaning!

I want God to be able to write … “By faith, Joanne _________.”

The journey will make demands of us and some day we may feel like Abraham, needing to go “without knowing where we are going” (Hebrews 11:8).

journey

It is on those days that we are to follow the example of Moses:

“He kept on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.” (Hebrews 11:27b, NLT)

Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Faith ‘N Friends and #FreshMarketFriday .
