I recently read that the average adult makes about 35,000 decisions a day. Granted some are made easily, requiring hardly any thought … Do I want ice in my water? or “What do I want to watch on TV?”
Others are life changers which take more of our time and thought process. In making decisions, we want to know we are making the correct choices. We want to see up ahead and know the outcome.
“Thus says the Lord:
“Stand in the ways and see,
And ask for the old paths,
where the good is,
And walk in it;
Then you will find rest for your souls.”
(Jeremiah 6:16, NKJV)
The “old paths’ refers to the way of faith and obedience. Not only do we need to remember them but we must live them.
Scripture is not steering us away from change, but rather, offering wise advice to stay connected to God’s ways, even in the midst of changing times. The good way is found as we stand, see, ask, and walk in God ways.
The old path is the very place we will find God’s approval and there, He will pour out His favor.
May we see the tried and true road –
the right route for our souls.
For there our souls find rest.
Today I am joining … Weekend Whispers and Faith ‘n Friends .
May God bless you and open your eyes, so you can see more of Him this coming year, Joanne. May He guide your every decision!
Thank you, Betsy. I am so anticipating all that I will see in Him & of Him.
Beautiful post Joanne. I am praying that God will open my eyes wide this year. I don’t want to miss Him.
Barbie, praying for us both this morning. Truly.
This is so true for me this year. I’m reminded when I read this, that I should not ask for the change to go away, but ask for Him to steer me through the change. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Oh Alice, that may truly be when we see Him best. I am so glad you shared your thought! Blessings! xo
