IĆ¢ā¬ā¢m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.
Today the word prompt is … Keep.
We all have things which we like to keep. We keep them in a special place. A place which is special and will provide protection.
In those times which unsettle me causing me to feel vulnerable, I find myself grateful for His promise:
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3, NIV)
He alone provides for me a place of protection, of safety – He keeps me in a given and special place – in the palm of His hand.
It is there He keeps me with a sense of well being, assurance all will turn out for my good.
He keeps my mind steadfast, framing the situation with His truth.
He keeps me as I trust Him. Trust meaning I attach myself to Him relying on Him to keep me secure.
It’s a funny thing this word “keep” ….
He keeps me in perfect peace.
As I keep my mind on Him.
He keeps one thing. I keep another.
And peace is sure to come!
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Fellowship Friday and Everyday Jesus and Faith Filled Friday and Blessing Counters and Dance With Jesus .
Love God’s promise to keep us in Him; if only we can just remember to keep Him in our hearts, our minds and our trust.
It’s so true isn’t it, Kathryn. May we get more intentional in asking Him to seal thoughts of Him & Scriptures in our minds.
Love your clever post. Love the idea of being steadfast. {A FMF friend}
I did too. We so need a mind that is unwavering & resolute in our trust & belief in Him. Grateful you stopped here!
Absolutely!
So many have quoted Isaiah 26.3 today – THAT is a “keeper”, amen? Glad I stopped by from #FMF.
Love your play on words š Yes! It is a keeper! Perhaps needs to be written on an index card to keep it visible for a few days.
I love the though of curling up in the Father’s hand. I just need to keep myself ‘attached’ (great way to put it!).
Anita, when I think of attaching myself to Him, I get a picture of those backpack type leashes which go on a toddler (especially in Disneyland) so as not to lose them in a crowd. Been there, done that & successfully stayed attached š Can I just say I am so glad you commented as you brought a better picture to my mind! Blessings!
Thank you for this post on “keep”. I love the connection you made with “He keeps me as I keep my mind on Him.” Lord Jesus, I have set my mind on the things above… keeping my mind on You. I receive Your peace. I really needed to read this, Jo.
And Mare, we do it today and today and today. Each day we must do this. And He is faithful to help us!
So true! I am learning to keep my mind steadfast on Him.
Blessings!
Michelle, it truly is something we learn to do. Each & every day. May we keep on learning!
Yes, that is funny! He keeps one thing, I keep another. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on keeping. š
May we keep on keeping! Grateful you stopped here!
What a beautiful reminder to keep our eyes fixed on Him. Thank you for sharing this encouragement with us today, Joanne. #DanceWithJesus
PS: I love this concept of “Five Minute Friday” How fun! Never heard of it until today.
Tina, grateful you stopped here & our paths crossed. Stop over at #fmfparty. It is always an encouraging linkup each week.
So thankful for the perfect peace He gives. He keeps me… It is well with my soul. Thanks Joanne! Beautiful!
Deb, He keeps us even when we have not been faithful to keep time with Him. Amazing to think of His tight hold on us. Have a great week!
Ah, Joanne… Definitely one of my favorite Scriptures. So powerful and very important in this season when I am easily rattled. Thanks for this sweet and vital reminder. #YouRock
Sharita, may we remember to ask Him to give us His peace when we find ourselves rattled. He’s quick to bring it š
