Sixteen years ago, we adopted a cat that had been brought to our vet to be put down. She was a year old, had just had a litter of kittens & the owners wanted to keep the kittens & put her down.
Who knew?
Who knew the love, the fun, the joy, the companionship that one cat would provide to each of our family members all these years?
On Friday, it was with great sadness that our Patches had to be put to sleep. She was very sick. I had tried for the last month, with the help of our vet, to get her health to improve but it was to no avail. She continued to weaken & on Friday, he made the recommendation to do the humane thing.
The last month of taking care of her has truly taught me something about my God……
Can we ever truly understand the creative mind of our God who created all things for the enjoyment of His people?
I have been humbled & awed at the thought of that God created the fur ball feline that was our pet for our enjoyment. To think that He specifically created her for our home, for our family has blown me away.
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, WHO RICHLY PROVIDES US WITH EVERYTHING FOR OUR ENJOYMENT.
(1 Timothy 6:17 NIV).
Did you catch it? He provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Oh the magnificent love of the Father to bless us with things in this life that bring us joy. How amazing is that!
May He open our eyes to see – each & every day – what He is providing that day for our enjoyment. I do not want to miss, not a single thing, for He does all things well.
