So here we are – at the beginning.
Let me start with why I am here. There are things I would love to see change in my life – provisions, healing, growth, and dreams fulfilled. To be honest, much of this seems impossible. But I’ve been in impossible situations and I have seen God move to respond. And so, I am desiring Him to move again in my life.
I read The Circle Maker years ago when it first came out. Several months ago, I felt drawn to read it again. But I resisted. But God can be persistent and I am finding Him calling me, yet still, to read the book again. Or perhaps He is calling me back to praying bold prayers.
Whether things seem feasible or impossible, great or small – we can pray about them. We must, in fact, pray about them.
We must dare to pray – anyway.
To ‘dare’ is —- “to have the necessary courage or boldness for something; to be bold enough; to face defiantly; to face courageously” (according to dictionary.com).
As we dare to pray, we pray knowing that even if it feels like I am not hearing from God, He is hearing my prayers.
You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.” (James 4: 2b-3, NIV)
Will you dare to ask Him?
Now here’s the thing … the answers received may not look like we would expect. When we receive an answer to prayer, we often are changed as we experience God’s grace and mercy even though our circumstances may remain unchanged. A measure of faith is deposited into our souls making it impossible NOT to believe Him for more.
So today, take a moment to think about what would you dare to pray. What is it that seems impossible in your life? What change would you like to see God make in your life? Take some time to sit with a piece of paper. Draw a few circles and in the center jot down that which seems impossible in your life.
Then dare to pray – anyway.

Kel, praying you find the the encouragement you need every day as you follow along. Our prayer lives & faith need a boost now & then. I know mine does. This seemed to be the book I thought I should focus on. May we both find our prayers lives strengthened as the month goes on. Sometimes that is all the answer we need! As I follow you from #FellowshipFridays, I am grateful that God led me here this afternoon. Going in circles seems like a lot of what I do but it seems to be the way God teaches me as I don’t usually get the full lesson on round one. Daring to pray boldly seems to also be something God is working in me. Glad for the reminders and the push.

I’ve never heard of this book before, but I’ll have to look for it. I think I’m in the category of “scared to pray big things”–maybe because I feel like God has already blessed me with so many miracles. Thanks for linking up :). Anita, I think you hit on a key point – we are scared to pray big things. I’m beginning to learn to pray bigger. His answer may be no, or not yet. But I will have learned something more in the process about God. And if He says “yes” well, I both learn and receive from His Hand 🙂

It is a wonderful book & actually my 2nd time through it. Time is always an issue in these busy days for sure 🙂
