Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is: Persuade.
Life is changing and shifting every day. Every day the news tells us of changes occurring in our world, our country, and communities.
Thanks to technology, we are able to learn about these events faster than ever before. Almost as quickly as they happen, they are being reported, often before all the facts are even fully known.
There isn’t much that is certain any longer. So much is subject to change.
I do not know how to solve wars, formula shortages, health challenges, and economic difficulties. I do not know how to resolve racism, hatred, and strained relationships. I do not know the answer for climate changes, rising fuel prices, and the downturns in the stock market.
Persuade, by definition is “to move by argument, entreaty, or expostulation to a belief, position, or course of action” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary).
There is one thing I do know and am certain:
“For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” (2 Timothy 1:12, NKJV)
Being persuaded of His ability to keep
that which we commit to Him,
may we commit all of our days to His keeping.

Today I may be joining: Five Minute Friday and Grace & Truth .
Merrily we roll along,
a world so hubris-full,
not knowing right from very wrong,
a mad blaspheming bull
that will stomp down anyone
who dares get in his way;
father, sister, mother, son,
none will be left in play
on the journey to the peak
with hipsters, yuppies, mods,
for ’tis Olympus that were seek
to commune with ancient gods
for whom the greatest love we feel,
perhaps because they are not real.
He has certainly proved himself to be trustworthy!
