“But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.” (Matthew 13:16, NASB)
“The Holy Spirit helps you to develop spiritual senses as you walk with Him. Spiritual sensitivity to God is a gift that must be accepted and exercised …
You will look at events, recognize the activity of God, and adjust your life to Him … You will hear God’s voice over the din of the world’s voices, and you will keep your bearings in the midst of the confusing circumstances.
Sin dulls your senses, ultimately leaving you spiritually blind and deaf. Do not be content with merely seeing with physical eyes and hearing with natural ears but sensing what God is doing. Ask God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to sensitize you to His activity all around you.”

Today I may be joining … Scripture & a Snapshot .
I was reading John 6 this morning with my SS class, and we remarked how much we have missed in spite of all our readings of that passage. May we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our eyes and ears into attentiveness!
Michele, it is amazing how we are always blessed to discover something new in Scripture. It makes the reading richer and exciting.
What an interesting image to go with this verse and devotional! I actually thought of Balaam’s donkey, who was, in a sense, blessed to be able to see and hear the angel of the Lord and to speak to her master about that experience! haha! And how much more are we blessed to have the revelation of the fulfillment of Scripture, and the Holy Spirit to teach us!
Amen, Kym! I did not think of Balaam’s donkey but I love your thoughts and thank you for sharing them! I chose the image because of the precious ears on this donkey. Oh, that we would always listen and hear and obey the Word of the Lord. Have a blessed week!
