So the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord was concerned about the sons of Israel and that He had seen their affliction, then they bowed low and worshiped.” (Exodus 4:31, NASB)

“No change had actually taken place in their condition. They had only been assured by Moses and Aaron that God had not forgotten them during those four hundred years. This assurance was enough. They bowed in worship.

We feel unable to worship God because we think He has forgotten us in our trial and left us to our own resources … How can we worship Him? Our lips are silenced – until we see. A day comes when we understand the ways of God, and at once we know Him has not forgotten us. In that day, the silent lips are opened, the resentful heads bowed. We acknowledge God’s grace in everything and we adore His ways.”
