“The Lord is my strength and shield.I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” (Psalm 28:7, NLT)
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-19, NASB)
“How can we rejoice amid difficulties? Where does that joy come from? … We are to rejoice in the Lord. We are to live by the joy of Him, who, where you or I would have despaired, “rejoiced in spirit” … His joy is yours. Learn to live by it above your troubles. When tempted to be cast down, look up and ask yourself, Has the Lord lost His joy today? Only if He has may you be content to be joyless! For it is not a question of your joy, but His. The joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Today I may be joining … Scripture & a Snapshot .
I lost count of the number of times I quoted these verses over the weekend, Joanne. Thank you.
Great song, thanks for sharing.
This made me think about “the joy of the Lord” in a different way – that it’s not just the joy that comes from the Lord, but that the Lord himself IS joyful! Love it!
