Ushering in Thanksgiving with some simple daily reminders …
“Just as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so go on living in him—in simple faith. Grow out of him as a plant grows out of the soil it is planted in, becoming more and more sure of the faith as you were taught it, and your lives will overflow with joy and thankfulness.” (Colossians 2:6-7, Phillips)
Simple faith –> growth –> overflow of joy –> overflow of thankfulness.
Our lives are meant to OVERFLOW with joy and thankfulness.

I saw this graphic and saved it on my desktop. It’s been good to pull it up and read it each day, like more than once!
Here is what hits me every time – What am I complaining about right now? How can I be thankful for this instead?
So what are you complaining about today? And … How can you be thankful for this instead?

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your Name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night.”
(Psalm 92:1-2, NASB)
Reading these words this morning struck deeply. We are to:
- give thanks
- sing praises
- declare His lovingkindness
- declare His faithfulness
As I sat looking at these four bullets, I realized the depth to which I need the Lord in my life each day. Then this song came back to mind to remind me just how dependent I am upon the Lord each and every day.

May each of your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving.
