And just like that – we enter the Advent season.
The first candle is Hope for Jesus brought hope into the world, He is our hope each day, and we have hope of His return one day.
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.†(Titus 2:11-13, NASB)
Let’s take a few moments to look at this hope:
- Past. “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men …†(Titus 2:11, NASB). The day Christ burst into our world as a small baby, born to a virgin, and placed in the manger, He brought hope of salvation once for all.
- Present. †… instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly in the present age …†(Titus 2:12, NASB). He works in our lives each day to draw us to Himself and make us more like Him.
- Future. †… looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ†(Titus 2:13, NASB). One day, Jesus will return in the grandest of ways as our King. His majesty will be visible to every eye.
Won’t you join me at Woman to Woman Ministries HERE as we look at the promise of hope this first week of Advent.

Today I may be joining …
Joanne,
I was feeling so good and so grateful after a relaxing and peaceful Thanksgiving and then, as things happen, the rug was pulled out from under my adult son and it feels like hope went out the window. I could use prayers as I cling to the hope found in Jesus. Your post was quite timely. Thank you.
Blessings,
Bev xx
Praying for you and your son this morning, Bev.
I sent you an email and I will be praying! {{hugs}}
Joanne, thanks for reminding us of our blessed hope. I love that passage from Titus and how you fleshed it out. We need hope more than ever these days. And He is the only one who gives us true hope in the midst of every test, trial, and circumstance.
Donna, your comment was an encouragement to me, so thank you!
Amen. God is our hope. We can find refuge in Him. 🙂
He is indeed our refuge and our hope – during Advent and always.
Amen. Our hope is found in Him.
