Everyone must have a morning routine, although it most likely varies from person to person. Mine consists of grabbing a mug full of black coffee, getting my Bible, and sitting on the couch near the window. Depending on the time of year, it may still be dark out, or a hint of dawn breaking may be seen.
It’s my favorite time of day because of the stillness and quiet it offer, filling my soul with a calm and peace.
The words come softly. “In the morning when I rise, give me Jesus.â€
The melody alone soothes and the words infuse hope and faith.
“But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy. Though I fall I will rise; Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.†(Micah 7:7-8, NASB)
Enemies can come in many shapes – hopelessness, despair, financial difficulty, a challenging child, a work deadline, health problems. An enemy is anything or anyone which comes against you. On any given day, it can be a host of situations.
What is the reminder we need to fill our hearts and minds with as we rise each morning?

Today I am joining … Inspire Me Monday .
One of my morning routines is opening the front door and then, the back door and saying “Lord, thank You for this glorious morning.” Starting the day with praising the Lord sets my heart right for the day. 🙂
