“Why do You stand afar off, O Lord? Why do You hide Yourself in times of trouble?” (Psalm 10:1, NASB)
“Why is the easiest question to ask but the hardest to answer …
Phillips Brooks said, “The purpose of life is the building of character through truth.” Character is built in the storms and battles of life; it is tested in the easy times of life. The most discouraging feeling is that nobody understands. Christ endured all His earthly experiences so God could prepared Him to be a merciful and faithful High Priest …
God hears when we call and remembers; in His time, He accomplishes His purposes. And we can be confident of that …
God does not turn a deaf ear to our questions. Nor is He inactive regarding sin. He is interested in helping us build character, and He will accomplish His purposes in due time.”

Today I am joining … Scripture & a Snapshot and Sunday Scripture Blessings .
You and Warren are.a truth-telling team, Joanne! God is never inactive!
Amen Ms. Joanne. While I wholeheartedly agree, I have learned that when God doesn’t seem to be answering my prayers (even with “no”), and I start to wonder if He is even listening, I need to understand He might hear my prayers, but my lack of repentance, etc. keeps Him from actively listening and acting upon them. I’m prompted from time-to-time to ask myself what I’ve done on my end of the connection to cause a breakdown in communications. He’s never failed to show me the area of life I needed to understand was causing the interference.
I am thankful that in times of trouble, God is always with us. In times of joy and in times of sorrow, God provides the peace and comfort needed. He never leaves.
So thankful that God is always with me and that I can trust him in everything – even when I don’t seem to be getting answers to my questions. I’m glad God isn’t impatient with me for asking so often!
Maybe God stands afar off at times so that we might move all the closer, to move away from where we are? Spiritually and physically! You’ve got me thinking here, Joanne!
Oh sometimes I don’t want another character building experience! Lol! But God knows better.
