Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Peace.
The rumors circulated for several weeks. Will it happen? When will it happen?
The world waited on pins and needles as there were images of the pieces being put into place, and then it began – the invasion of Russia into Ukraine.
For this peaceable country, there was peace no longer.
People are fleeing. Some are huddled in subways, which have now become bomb shelters.
The images come of sons and daughters helping the elderly to safety. Parents with young children in tow and in their arms, some yet inside their mother’s womb.
I cannot understand the range of emotions these people must be experiencing – the horror, the fear, the anxiety and concern for their loved ones.
The questions which must be going through their minds – How will we ever resume life? How do we rebuild? Where do we go from here? What kind of life will my children have?
Questions without answers.
And so I pray …
Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace. Come, Lord Jesus, and bring peace to the Ukrainians. In the middle of the chaos, the conflict, and the unknown, fill their hearts and minds with Your peace. Remind the people that You are with them. Give them strength to endure. And may you, Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who has never vacated His throne, be merciful to Ukraine. Come, Prince of Peace. In Your Mighty Name I pray, Amen.
” … And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6b, NASB)

Today I am joining …
Our prayers make a difference, Joanne. I’m thankful the Prince of Peace brings us comfort and peace in the midst of wars and rumors of wars.
Prayer’s a good idea,
really, it’s the best
when peace has just said SeeYa!
and gone and left the nest.
Civilian folk will find it hard
to ever count on normal days;
their children are forever scarred,
in so many hidden ways.
And so we see sadly again
that Good does not deter,
only threat of blood and pain
softly brought that some infer
that our will is not confused,
and the Big Stick shall be used.
Father, hear our prayers. We need You. Amen.
Thanks for your prayers!
When we can do nothing, we can always pray. Nothing is too big for God.

Amen to your prayer. That is all we can do at the moment as we watch these heart rending images.
Amen.
oh, we so need to be reminded of who the Lord is in the midst of all this don’t we?
And so, we must pray His will be done.
Joining in this prayer and peace for these people whose lives have been turned upside down.
Amen Joanne. Praying with you and others today. Blessings.

It’s so heart-breaking! May we not tire of the news and instead continue to turn it to prayer!
Lord, hear us from heaven and heal our land! Amen.
