“Â For we through the Spirit, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness.”
(Galatians 5:5, NASB)
“There are times when everything looks very dark to me – so dark that I have to wait before I have hope. Waiting with hope is very difficult, but true patience is expressed when we must even wait for hope. When we see no hint of success yet refuse to despair, when we see nothing but the darkness of night through our window yet keep the shutters open because stars may appear in the sky, and when we have an empty place in our heart yet will not allow it to be filled with anything less that God’s best – that is the greatest kind of patience in the universe …
Strive to be one of the few who walk this earth with the ever present realization – every morning, noon, and night – that the unknown that people call heaven is directly behind those things that are visible.”

Beautiful quote and yes… that’s what hope acts like.
Interesting distinction between waiting with hope and waiting for hope. I’m thankful our hope is in the Lord, no matter what things look like in this world.
This reminded me of our experience the last couple nights. We receive the text alerts when the Int’l Space Station will be visible, as it was supposed to be the last two nights. We went out at the stated time, with our compass, watching the skies because we KNEW it was up there, even though it was cloudy both nights and the chances of spotting the ISS were slim to none. But we looked. Thanks to your post, I’ll be reminded of the meaning of waiting with and for hope every time we go out too look at the sky. 🙂
Hope is such a lifeline, and without it we would definitely be lost. Thanks be to God that we have hope in him.
