“And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be delivered …” (Joel 2:32, NASB)
“So why don’t I call on His name? Why do I run to this person or that person, when God is near and will hear my faintest call? Why do I sit down to plot my own course and make my own plans? Why don’t I immediately place myself and my burden on the Lord?
My situation is urgent, and I cannot see how I will ever be delivered. Yet this is not my concern, for He who made the promise will find a way to keep it. My part is simply to obey His commands, not to direct His ways. I am His servant, not His advisor. I call upon Him and He will deliver me. (Charles Spurgeon)

He is nearer even than our ever present cell phones!
God WITH us. Such a powerful truth to not only believe but to abide in.
Yep. It’s often easier to run to another person first instead of God. Granted, God often shows up through that other person. But I could at least run it by God first. 😉
Love this vintage photo to go along with the verse and thoughts. Yes, why would we call upon anyone else BEFORE calling to God? That’s a reminder I needed today, and need often.
“He who made the promise will find a way to keep it.” Amen. We don’t have to worry how things will work out or “help” Him with our ideas and schemes. We just have to trust and obey.
Nice reminder verse of who is there ready and waiting.
