Every Friday I join a community of bloggers for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt, five minutes. Unedited. The prompt this week is … Redeem.

The definition of “redeem” which held my attention was “to buy back; to recover” (dictionary.com).

Every day we are all given a twenty four hour stretch of time. It is ours to do with as we see fit.

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Ephesians 5:15-16, NKJV)

The meaning of “walking circumspectly” is to walk with exactness. We don’t want to walk carelessly for then we are not using our time wisely. We want to give thought on how to use the time, seeking God’s guidance, fulfilling His will.

Each day as we redeem the time, using it wisely, our lives are watched by those around us.

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.”
(Colossians 4:5, NKJV)

The use of our time will have impact. We have a responsibility and our behavior and choices form our testimony to those who observe our lives.

As we make walk in wisdom,
redeeming the time,
God can use our testimony to redeem the lives of others.
