“So be ready by morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to Me on the top of the mountain.” (Exodus 34:3, NASB
“The morning is a critically important part of the day. You must never face the day until you have faced God, nor look into the face of others until you have looked into His. You cannot expect to be victorious, if you begin your day in your own strength alone …
Meet with Him alone and regularly, having His Book of counsel open before you. Then face the ordinary, and the unique, responsibilities of the day with the renewed influence and control of His character over all your actions.”

Thank you dear Joanne. I have to check my shelf. I think I bought this devotional. Have a blessed day in Him. Love in Christ, Julie
I rotate my devotional books each year. I am so grateful 2021 was the year for Streams 🙂
I can’t imagine a personal invitation directly from the mouth of God–and yet that’s what I have through his Word! Incredible!
It’s so true, Michele. I once heard a speaker say that everything God had to say to us is written on those pages. May we hear what He has to say each time we open His Book.
Joanne, beautifully said. I have found that my day will not be right if I do not spend time with the Lord first. I especially need to on those mornings when I wake already feeling depleted emotionally and physically and I haven’t even placed one foot on the floor â¤
Thank you for your inspirational faith filled posts. God bless.ðŸ™
Kathleen, it’s so true. He fills us even before we get out of bed when we turn our thoughts to Him. Thank you for encouraging me!
“You must never face the day until you have faced God, nor look into the face of others until you have looked into His.” So true!
Does make for a better day.
I’ve been thinking of picking up my Mom’s worn copy of Streams in the Desert, Joann. i consider your post today to be the invitation to say ‘yes’ to.
Thank you!
Oh my gosh, Linda. I bet her copy is a treasury!
I love that early morning time with God. It helps set me off with my heart and mind in the right place.
even though we can meet with God at any time, and even though I am NOT a morning person, it still makes sense that the best start to any day is meeting with God. Good reminder!
I would venture to say, your reward will be great for having made the effort when you are not a morning person.
