“And now the Lord speaks – the one who formed me in my mother’s womb to be his servant …” (Isaiah 49:5, NLT)
“We must continually keep our soul open to the fact of God’s creative purpose, and never confuse or cloud it with our own intentions. If we do, God will have to force our intentions aside no matter how much it may hurt … Once we realize that it is through the salvation of Jesus Christ that we are made perfectly fit for the purpose of God, we will understand why Jesus Christ is so strict and relentless in His demands. He demands absolute righteousness from His servants, because He has put into them the very nature of God.
Beware lest you forget God’s purpose for your life.”

Today I am joining … Scripture & a Snapshot and Sunday Scripture Blessings and Selah .
I tend to imagine all kinds of purposes for myself, most of which are short-sighted and incomplete. I love the reminder here of God’s great over-arching purpose to present me faultless one day.
I just love Chambers. He always lays it down straight from the heart. He doesn’t use too many flowery words. His words are powerful but his heart is humble.
It’s so easy to get distracted with what I want to do, even things that I think fall into alignment with God’s purposes. I’m trying to remember at the start of each day to surrender to His purposes for that day.
Great reminder of who and why. There are times I have forgotten that, but thankfully reminders were there.
I have read this message in similar ways in a variety of books over the past year. I think I need to listen a more closely and let God direct my life.
Sometimes it isn’t easy to know which direction to go, but God IS faithful when we step out in obedience to as much of his purpose for us that we DO know.
