“But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” (Luke 18:8. NLT)
“There are times in your spiritual life when there is confusion, and the way out of it is not simply to say that you should not be confused. It is not a matter of right and wrong, but a matter of God taking you through a way that you temporarily do not understand. And it is only by going through the spiritual confusion that you will come to the understanding of what God wants for you …
Will He find the kind of faith that counts on Him in spite of the confusion? Stand firm in faith, believing that what Jesus said is true, although in the meantime you do not understand what God is doing.”
(Oswald Chambers, My Utmost For His Highest, September 12)
Today I am joining … Scripture & a Snapshot and Sunday Scripture Blessings and Selah .
That is the probing question for our hearts to consider, isn’t it, Joanne? May we be found faithful!
Indeed!
As far as confusion: That’s when the words, leaning on God is a go to. There are those days and so many times life’s circumstances.
How many? Great probing question for today’s world. Only God knows. Happy Sunday
May we trust God and remain faithful to Him even when we do not understand. In time, He will reveal.
We recently had someone leave the church because they did not agree with the concept that most often we accept truth from God’s Word before we fully understand it- that we grow in understanding. They interpreted this one sentence to asking for blind following. Once the offense entered their heart over this concept, there was no reasoning with them from God’s Word. My heart was broken as this was someone I considered a true friend and, as you may know, when you’re the pastor’s wife and someone leaves the church, they don’t want contact with you anymore either.
Oh Elizabeth, I am so sorry as that is a hard situation to go through, especially with a friend. We forget that God’s ways are a mystery and often in time, He brings revelation. Keep praying for your friend and I pray in time, He will bring about restoration.
There sure is a lot of confusion in this world! So comforting to know that we can always trust God, especially when we don’t understand. May we be found faithful.
