“Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, “Lord, teach us to pray …” (Luke 11:1, NLT)
“Prayer is not a normal part of the life of the natural man … Prayer is the way that the life of God in us is nourished … We look upon prayer simply as a means of getting things for ourselves, but the biblical purpose of prayer is that we may get to know God Himself …
Be yourself before God and present Him with your problems – the very things that have brought you to your wits’ end …
Prayer is not a matter of changing things externally, but one of working miracles in a person’s inner nature.”

“Prayer is not a matter of changing things externally, but one of working miracles in a person’s inner nature.†So true. Though my memory at times fails me, I can still remember life changing moments that occurred during prayer. Thank you for sharing.
Hard sometimes to present ourselves with all life’s frailties, but he knows us better than we know ourselves anyway. However, going to God in prayer does wonders for our soul with the time spent, and is great for assurances for calming.
Whenever Chambers talks about prayer, I am startled into realizing that I know almost nothing about it.
Waiting daily for God to work his miracles in us. Praying and trusting that He who promised is faithful.
