“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14, NLT)
“If we are going to live as disciples of Jesus, we have to remember that all efforts of worth and excellence are difficult. The Christian life is gloriously difficult, but its difficulty does not make us faint and cave in – it stirs us up to overcome.
Thank God that He does give us difficult things to do! His salvation is a joyous thing, but it is also something that requires bravery, courage, and holiness. It tests us for all we are worth.”

Bracing words here about our growing up process. Where did we ever get the idea that it would (or should?) be easy?
when young that scripture was hard to understand; only through the narrow gate. But, as I set in earnest to read the Bible, things became so much clearer. At times in life, that one is needed to remind that it can be done with His help.
Feeling a wee bit tested lately. Thank you for these words that I needed this morning.
“gloriously difficult”. Yes. That phrase sits well with my Spirit. The believer’s live can be difficult, as are most lives. However, gloriously difficult is our experience because we know who holds us in the palm of His hands, who is guiding us, who is loving us. Gloriously Difficult. Beautiful.
