Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is … With.
One word – with – in the season of Advent brings one verse to mind:
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ ” (Matthew 1:23, NLT)
The dictionary simply defines ‘with’ as “accompanied by; accompanying”.
God sent His Son, called His Name Immanuel, so that we would always remember He is with us.
We are accompanied by Him every moment of our lives.
From the time we draw our first breath –
He is with us.
The moment we exhale our last breath –
He is with us.
He is accompanying us as we slip into eternity. We are never alone both now and throughout eternity.
“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5, NIV)
Jesus.
Immanuel.
God is with us.
Now and forevermore.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith On Fire and Fresh Market Friday .
I love this! Emmanuel – God with us? How could we be so blessed????!
Such a lovely post.
Amen. God is with us. Merry Christmas!
Knowing God with us makes such a difference!
Good news, God with us from beginning to end. Coming from FMF #12. Thank you, Joanne and Merry Christmas!
God accompanying us = Emmanuel.
With.
AMEN!!!
“We are accompanied by Him every moment of our lives.” That is SUCH a miracle that we often overlook it. I need Christmas every year to remind me to sit up and pay attention. Thanks, Joanne!
The Word made flesh!
