Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is … Loved.
Heading to the kitchen for a cup of coffee waiting for me in the pot, the thought comes, “She is ten days old today.”
In ten short days, she has stolen all of our hearts.
I find myself talking to her each time I hold her, rock her, feed her a bottle, or simply look at her. It doesn’t matter if she is awake or asleep. I still talk to her telling her little things about her new home, her mommy and daddy, her Poppy and I. When the noise above us is heard, I tell her that one day she will be able to run and have fun with her cousins.
I rock her, rub her soft beautifully shaped head, planting gentle kisses and say, “I want you to know I love you!”
More than wanting to inform her about her world,
I want her to know she is deeply loved.
With those thoughts, the verse comes to mind. I wonder how many times I have read the verse for it is familiar one. How many times have I failed to realize it has been spoken over me? Over each of us?
“Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to myself.” (Jeremiah 31:3, NLT)
If I, as an earthly mom and Mimi, longs for my children and grandchildren to know that I love them, how much more does the Lord, our heavenly Father, long for us to know He loves us?
Everlasting love.
Unfailing love.
He longs to love and draw us to Himself.
Loved.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith On Fire and Fresh Market Friday and Faith ‘N Friends .
I pray we all get a greater revelation of how much God loves us, Joanne. Blessings!
Such a gorgeous way to start our morning. This word was exactly what we all need right now. A reminder of the love we hold, a reminder of the love we are lucky to receive. I wish that little one all the love she deserves!
Congratulations Joanne and how beautifully matched unto the love of our Father for us!. Blessings to you!
Thanks for sharing. Being a parent taught me a lot about God’s love for me. FMF18
Yes, I agree Michelle. Being a parent taught me a lot about God. The parenting years grew me up spiritually.
His love, when I really think about it? Unravels me. It can mess me up in a very excellent way.
Such a beautiful reminder for us all. We are all loved!
I get it, even though I’ve never had anything to do with kids.
When a neighbour brought Strawberry the Baby Bullmastiff to me, she was too weak to lift her head, and too sad to wag her tail…and the first thing I said to her is “You’re home, and you’re LOVED.”
Now she’s a 100+ pound bundle of noisy and exuberant energy, living life like she’s loved!
Amazing what a little love will do even for our pets!
Absolutely beautiful, Joanne! Congratulations on your new little one to love and thanks for this beautiful reminder of the perfect never-ending love of our Heavenly Father. Blessings!
