“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14, NLT)
The first month of 2018 is over.
But maybe a new year isn’t about fighting or toiling to have everything under control. One of the most important steps is the one you are taking right now. As you abide in God’s Word, you are already patiently putting one foot in front of the other with Jesus by your side. Today you can lean in and find wisdom in His Word.
Wherever you are at in your faith walk, just remember, one month down and eleven more to go this year! That’s one grace-filled step toward progress.
Prayer: Lord, before I put away the laundry, head to the gym, or reach out to a friend, I desire to have the right priorities. Today, please show me one step I can take toward abiding in you. Fill me, Jesus.

This is particularly timely for me Joanne. I am in a waiting period of sorts and I am TERRIBLE at waiting. I love a good project, something to turn my laser-beam focus. And when I don’t have one, I feel adrift. Thank you for turning my focus on to something that doesn’t begin or end!
This is so good! I think we get disheartened and discouraged and tempted to quit when we look to far down the road in front of us. Focusing one step at a time makes life doable!
I feel like I’ve been running in place for the last 6 days due to a migraine-filled week. All my plans went by the wayside, so patience was needed. Now that I’m coming out of it, it would be tempting to hit the ground running first thing tomorrow morning and skip those morning devotions. I won’t, however, as I’ve learned I can get more done well during the day if I first spend some time with the Lord. He needs to be my first priority.
“one GRACE-FILLED step at a time…” A great goal to strive for as we wait on His will, as we work for Him, as we move….filled with grace. Thank you for sharing!
Oh, I needed a start over this year and instead I got the flu and unexpected guests. Thanks for the reminder it is not too late!
