Each Friday my writing stems from a word prompt. Five minutes, one word prompt. The prompt this week is … Inspire.
Inspire. My Bible dictionary defines this as to influence, move, or guide by divine influence.
With the definition before me for quite some time now, one thought comes to mind – My desire is that my life would be inspired by Him. All that I do. All that I say. All that I am.
I want to live my life, inspired by, influenced each day and guided by God’s Word and His Holy Spirit.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
(2 Timothy 3:16-17, NLT)
Scripture is inspired by God. It is His God breathed word for us and to us. He worked in men to record His thoughts for us so all we need to know has been preserved for all people for all time.
His inspired Word will inspire us each day.
All Scripture is useful to us as our guide and our teacher in life. It is the means by which God prepares us, molds us, and equips us for each day.
Each day we can be guided by Scripture, inspired in our reactions and responses, so that our lives will point others to Him. His influence in our lives will cause others to recognize a difference in us. We will stand apart, distinct, as people who live counter-culturally for our lives will be inspired by Him.
“The Scripture of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God, and are the only sufficient, certain and authoritative rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience.” (James Boyce, as quoted in Key Word Commentary by Mark Water, page 1149)
His Word = Inspiration for life.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith On Fire and Faith Filled Friday and Faith ”˜N Friends and Fresh Market Friday .
This is such a simple, yet invaluable life tool: “His Word = Inspiration for life.” I far too often forget to turn to His Word. What a difference it makes when I remember. Whether it’s in the midst of a struggle or starting the day with a scripture, that simple act changes everything. Thanks for this important reminder, Joanne.
Candace, I truly wrote it as a reminder to myself 🙂 Like you, I find when I remember it makes all the difference in my day. Have a great Friday!
God’s Word is the best inspiration. It’s how He speaks to me throughout the day and encourages me to persevere and be like Jesus.
It’s amazing the difference His Word makes in our day, in our attitude, and in our responses. It truly makes all the difference in us. I so want to remember this!
That’s a good wish! With all the confusion and mess going on in this world, it’s good to have a stable source of inspiration and guidance.
Have an inspired weekend! Your FMF neighbor
We are using this scripture as our foundation of our kids ministry series this summer. ROADTRIP – Navigating through the Bible – talking about how all scripture is useful and teaches us the way to go!
Thanks for these inspiring words! Happy Friday to you! (Stopping by from FiveMinuteFriday)
John 1:1!!! I’m in the 7 spot this week.
So simple yet so profound.
Joanne, so inspired by God, his word, his love. I love you my friend. Love Diana
So good. When we lack inspiration, His Word will lead us back. Blessings!
TRUTH: the very best inspiration!
