“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4, NIV)
God’s Word is not to be treated lightly just because we have heard it so often. Applying what we read or hear is the only way it is alive in us.
Prayer: Father, make the Word alive to me today as I meditate upon it, and may I be changed as a result. Use your mighty Word in the lives of Your people around the world. Amen.

Today I am joining … Spiritual Sundays and Scripture & a Snapshot .
God’s Word is alive and new to me every morning! Thank you for these thoughts.
Like you, I am so grateful it is new every day! Blessings!
“…so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” The key to maintaining our hope in hard times is right there! I love this!
Thank you, Elizabeth. I so appreciate you!
I love the suggestion in this verse that all that has come before us (the good and the bad) has been for good purpose. It helps me to remember that the best plan is not my own and be grateful for that.
So very true, Jamie. All that is written is for our good and to give us a hope.
Great image and verse.
Much appreciated, Carol!
It’s amazing to me that God can keep showing me new things in his word, no matter how many times I’ve read a particular passage before. Truly it’s alive!
And it is always an “on time” word too!
