It’s Friday! I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Many of us writing on that same word.
Today’s prompt is … Help.
I am in need of help this morning. We are in a situation where we will make a decision and want to make it wisely.
Help >> “to give or provide what is necessary to accomplish a task or satisfy a need“.
Scripture assures me that God is an “ever-present help” in my times of trouble or need. He is immediately and instantly there and available to those who call on Him.
“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1, NLT)
He is our help, our means of support or assistance when we are weak, helpless, or in need. He is all-sufficient, able to provide swift action in our lives.
He is ever-present meaning there is never a time He is not present. The enemy would have us to believe that we are alone in those moments of needing help. May we remember that our God is with us, currently and presently, to help us.
The psalmist continues to remind us that even in times of disaster, our God is our strength and our protection. No matter the help which we need, our God is able to be that very help to us. In my request for wisdom in decision making, I need to –
“Be still and know that I am God!” (verse 10).
I need to wait and know that He is ready to help. This morning I am not in trouble but having trouble with a decision. While it is no comparison with the trouble of others, I am assured that, even in this small matter,
He is my help.
Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Grace and Truth .
May you glean the wisdom you need in making an important decision. I’ve found it helpful to use a compass points strategy when making decisions and helping to break things down step by step. You take each point on the compass and answer questions in writing. N=what do you need to know about the issue?, W= what worries you about it? E= what excites you about it? and S=What steps can you or will you take first? I hope this helps. This past year I was stressing over going for a biopsy to check for cancer. The results came out negative- YAY God, but the waiting to find out was stressful, until I used the compass points strategy. It helped me break it down in to manageable steps. Blessings and peace to you! Stopping by from FMF.
I love this compass method! So grateful your results came out negative! God is faithful in all things!
He is indeed our help!
Even in the small matters, yes He is our help! Praying worth you hat God will give you peace about your decision. â¤ï¸
Thank you, Nannette. He is guiding us daily, one step at a time.
Prayers for you, Joanne.
I often find that God’s help in making a decision comes in very short form, usually ‘wait’, sometimes ‘now!’, and the best thing I can do is to think about something else until I hear back from the Home Office.
Pondering it merely grows thickets of thought, through which it can be tough to make out the still small voice from the untidy undergrowth being tossed by the wind.
#1 at FMF this week.

Andrew, you have shared much wisdom! I love that we need to wait until we hear back from the Home Office 🙂 We get the right response at the right time. Praying for you!
“He is ever-present, meaning there is never a time He is not present.” Yes! This is a truth that God has been impressing upon me this year. I’ve realized it even in my prayers, that it is perhaps even silly to pray, “God, be with this person or that person,” since He is ALWAYS with us! I don’t need to pray for Him to be there — He is already there!
Thanks for sharing and linking up with FMF, Joanne!
