“When the Lord say Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the burning bush, “Moses, Moses!”
“Here I am!” Moses replied.” (Exodus 3: 3, NLT)
Moses’ reply to God revealed that he knew where he was and that he was ready.
Readiness for God means that we are prepared to do the smallest thing or the largest thing – it makes no difference. It means that we have no choice in what we want to do, but that whatever God’s plans may be, we are there and ready.
Be ready for the sudden surprise visits of God.

Today I am joining … Give Me Grace and Spiritual Sundays and Word of God Speak and Let Us Grow .
I love the life of Moses, because it expresses the love of God that will use an imperfect to accomplish difficult task. It gives me courage to risk what ever the Lord ask me to do knowing He has already given me what it needs to accomplish it, His power, strength, wisdom, discernment and all the fruits of the spirit. And when I fail in the task He will not stop using me but because of Jesus will forgive and pick me up and set me back on Calvary’s road.
Such beautiful insight, Betty, and I so appreciate that you shared it! May we not see ourselves or the difficulty of the task but rest in the knowledge that He gives us what we need for the task. This is the way we make less of ourselves and more of Him. Blessings!
I read another post today about how we need to bring back the sense of wonder we had as children. I think that helps us to be ready for the “surprise visits” from God. It reminds us of His greatness and glory and how nothing is impossible with Him. It enables us to dream again! Blessings to you!
Children have such a beautiful sense of wonder about everything around them. I agree with you that wonder, or awe, will ready us for all that God is doing around us. So glad you shared! Blessings!
Oh, I pray I’m ready to do whatever He needs me to do, small or large! Thank you for sharing this with us, Joanne!
Carrie, I think praying to be ready is the most important step of all in being prepared for whatever task He may ask.
Joanne,
Joining with you in wanting to be ready to say, “Here I am, Lord,” when he calls on me. We never know when we’ll be asked, so we need to be on the ready!
Sunday blessings to you,
Bev
Bev, your comment echoed the words of Samuel. So many left us examples of how to reply when He calls. So grateful they did!
To have a yes on my lips and the courage to move when he calls is my desire. Thanks for sharing Joanne. Have a great week.
Wanda, a yes and courage! Love that you shared that! You always have such wonderful insight. Thank you for sharing it with me! Blessings!
