I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.
Today’s prompt is …. Weary.
Weary. Just the word can make one feel tired. The days are long, the work hard, and our bodies just long to rest.
Weary … “physically or mentally exhausted by hard work, exertion, strain, etc.; fatigued; tired” (dictionary.com).
Weary is when we just don’t have the strength to do another single thing.
But I am reminded of the One who is always at work, never ceases:
“Have you not heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary.” (Isaiah 40:28, NLT)
God’s power to administer the affairs of thousands of stars in the heavens and the millions of people on the earth never brings fatigue or weakens him because of exhaustion. Therefore, he is never worn out by a large task and nothing is too complex for him to figure out. God’s wisdom is unlimited and totally beyond human comprehension; therefore, there are no loose ends or uncontrollable circumstances of fate that overtax God’s ability to keep track of them. (New American Commentary, Vol. 15b, pg. 121)
No matter how weary I get …
Our God?
He can’t be overtaxed or overworked.
He never, ever grows weary.

Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Grace & Truth and Fellowship Friday .
Amen. God has promised to refresh refresh the weary and satisfy the faint. We can rest in Him. Blessings to you, neighbor!
And that is so it, Mari-Anna – it is a promise! So glad you added that thought!
Thanks for the link to You Are the Everlasting God! Just had a nice hands raised worship time with my coffee and your words this morning.
Just dropping by from FMF. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
We need that little reminder now & then 🙂
Oh what a beautiful Scripture to remember and hold onto. What would we do without this Love to carry our weary selves? Thank you for these encouraging words and thank you for dropping by my blog as well.
May we remember to turn to His Word more quickly when weariness overtakes us. He is faithful to carry us always.
This is something to be thankful for in this season. Praise God, He never grows weary! Thank you for the reminder. Visiting you today from #FaithFilledFriday where we are neighbors. Blessings…
I am so very thankful He never grows weary of me 🙂 Truly!
Yes! Beautiful verse for encouraging those who feel weak and weary. I recently wrote about being weary. Hope you don’t mind if I put the link here… I’d love for you to check it out. http://www.creativeinspirationsatmymessydesk.com/weary-warrior/ 🙂
Always good to follow a link on the same thought 🙂 Thank you!
Such a comforting thought to know even as we struggle, God has it all under control. He is not weary, nor will He become so.
It’s true. We need to remind ourselves that He doesn’t grow weary of us. Even when we come with the same need time and time again.
Joanne, I have nominated you for a Liebster Award, a distinction that is given by bloggers to other bloggers. I hope that you realize what a blessing you are to others, not only here in this space, but in your encouragement and positive comments all over this blogging community. Here’s a link to my post with all the details about the Liebster. I hope this will be a blessing to you. Have a great weekend.
