I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word.
Today the word prompt is … Door.
I read the word prompt last night, feeling disappointed, as I did not think I would be able to participate this week. Nothing was coming to me at all.
This morning I woke up early, my heart heavy with praying for a friend who needs both prayer and Jesus. As I pray for his salvation, the verse comes through my mind …
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. I f you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in.” (Revelation 3:20, NLT)
I’m praying for his soul. May he hear our Lord knocking. May he respond and open the door of his heart to let Him in.
I pray for another urgent need in our life as well. I mean, like, “Why not? I am already praying.” And as I pray, this verse comes through my mind …
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, find. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8, NLT)
And I smile – He knew I wanted to see doors open. My desire is for Him to answer prayers for salvation, for healing. And He is the One, the Only One, who can open doors.
In the early stillness I opened my Bible to read the verses in print. Peace filled my heart and mind. And I realized …
We keep knocking on doors because …
He keeps knocking on doors.
And doors are opened!

Today I am joining … Five Minute Friday and Faith Filled Friday and Fellowship Friday and Dance With Jesus and #FindStability and Grace & Truth and Faith & Fellowship .
I know that feeling of disappointment when you see the FMF word and are stumped….but it *is* amazing how words come….loved your post….it is incredible how He works, in our lives, to bring us what He sees we need just as we need it…{Your FMF neighbour}
It is always a wonderful experience to see what He brings from a word prompt. It’s usually exactly what I needed to think on.
Door. Knock and He will not only answer but open His door. Beautiful! Thanks for linking up at #DanceWithJesus today. Susan
Thank you, Susan. It has been wonderful to join you the last few weeks. Blessings!
I love that! We keep on knocking because He keeps on opening doors! I always say – they can’t say yes unless you ask and I guess that applies to doors – sometimes they won’t open unless you knock 🙂 #FMFParty #DanceWithJesus
So true, Sarah. And He truly is the keeper of the doors 🙂
Thank you for sharing this! Short and sweet. When we open the door of our hearts, then He can come right in and sup with us.
God Bless
So true, Ifeoma. He will quickly come in if we but open the door of our hearts. Blessings!
These are great verses to meditate on while praying for our loved ones we hope to someday come to know Jesus. Thank you for showing me verses to claim for them.
Blessings to you!
Sometimes we just need insight to know how to best pray. Blessings to you Stacey!
Wow, praise the Lord for OPEN doors! And also for those that close for our good and His glory. Thanks for sharing this at Grace and Truth 🙂
Love that you added He closes doors as well for our own good & for His glory. So very true!
